An 18-year-old from the North West province, who joined LESCO through a learnership facilitated by Afrika Tikkun. Despite living with neurofibromatosis, Katelego embraced her role on the assembly line and quickly adapted to tasks like machine press work. Her determination, positivity, and leadership aspirations embody the spirit of inclusion that drives LESCO. Katelego’s journey highlights how LESCO creates space for growth, connection, and leadership—one opportunity at a time.

In partnership with DeafSA, LESCO Manufacturing welcomed its first deaf line worker, Thato Mbhele, in 2022—marking a major step toward greater workplace inclusion. At 34, Thato quickly proved that disability is no barrier to excellence, earning his promotion to line leader where he now manages a team of up to 16 people. Raised in a challenging home environment, Thato’s resilience, work ethic, and leadership have made a lasting impact on LESCO’s factory floor. With continued support and mentorship, he’s setting his sights on becoming a production supervisor—showing that inclusive employment not only changes lives but strengthens teams.

A 26-year-old from Katlehong, joined LESCO Manufacturing in 2024 through a partnership with Afrika Tikkun. Despite living with physical disabilities from a childhood accident, Njabulo has shown exceptional determination and resilience on the assembly line. Initially driven by financial need, Njabulo quickly developed a passion for his work and a desire to master every station on the line. With growing confidence and support from his team, he now aims for full efficiency and professional growth—demonstrating how inclusive employment can unlock potential and transform lives.
